ABOUT SLUGA GALLERY - FIND ART IN UNEXPECTED PLACES
Welcome to Sluga Gallery. Our unique name, Sluga Gallery (pronounced “Slooga”) is named after us - Nancy and Charles Sluga. We are two devoted artists and are the proud owners of this beloved space. The surname is of Croatian heritage and actually means servant or service.
When Charles, fuelled by his unyielding determination for creative freedom, decided to establish his own gallery in 2012, Sluga Gallery was born, and with it came a sanctuary for Charles and Nancy to express themselves without limitations.
Nestled in the quaint village of Yackandandah in North East Victoria, Australia, our gallery finds its home in the historic Athenaeum building. Built in 1878, this magnificent structure embraces our artistic vision perfectly. Not only does it house our gallery, but it is also Charles' studio, Nancy’s framing space and a captivating workshop venue.
